|| Jill Keating is an inspired vocalist whose
mellow and smokey tones have touched the hearts of audiences around the world.
Jill was born in
Edinburgh, Scotland and is the daughter of legendary arranger and composer John
Keating. Jills early influences in music were formed when the family
moved to Hollywood California, where her father was writing music for movies
and commercials. She was immersed in a world of jazz and swing with some of the
greatest artists of all time such as Carmen McRae, Shirley Bassey and Cleo Lane
being regular visitors to the house.
Jill started singing and playing bass guitar at the
age of 15 when she joined the band Tara who performed all around the London
club scene for two years. The band were offered a contract in Dubai and went on
to tour internationally for several years. They toured in The Far East, The
Middle East, Scandinavia and all over Europe. Jill went onto opening several
nightclubs featuring live music in the West End of London. She sang nightly
with some of the best Jazz musicians on the London scene.
Jills recent acoustic version of
This Hotel with her brother Kevin Keating reached the Radio
Sixs international top ten singles chart. She has enjoyed several
television appearances in the UK and abroad.
